Practical steps you can take if you are depressed

 

  • Get adequate sleep

  • Manage or minimize stress

  • Aerobic exercise

  • Practice being grateful

  • Connect with others

  • See your primary care physician to rule out medical conditions (low thyroid disorder, lyme disease, celiac, etc.)

 

Treatments that work:

 

  • ISTDP

  • EMDR

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy

  • Medication (as a supplement to psychotherapy)

 

If you are depressed, see a psychologist for psychotherapy. If you cannot reach a therapist, call a suicide hotline (1-800-273-TALK) or 911. Depression is very treatable.
